New Years’ inevitably brings with it ego-driven fireworks displays where everyone wants to outdo their neighbor, just as in local neighborhoods the world’s great cities light up the sky to see who can do it better. I usually catch the highlights on CNN , which shows the major firework displays in real time as major cities around the World strike midnight. The sequence starts sometime in the morning (Curacao time on Jan 31st) with Sydney, moves west through Asia around the afternoon and hits London by sunset. However, if CNN’s 30-second bite sized clips are too short for your liking, you may turn to YouTube, which saw video uploads of the respective city’s firework displays within minutes of the occurrence.
